About our Club
Mission: To further promote the interests of our organization and our members to the community. We strive to make a difference by educating the public and expanding our reach. The club avidly supports and promotes the naturally-gaited Plantation Walking Horse. All the gaited horses belonging to our members are barefoot, keg or lite shod. NYSPWHC is a member of the NYS Horse Breeders Association and the NYS Horse Council.
NYSPWHC strongly supports the USDA's Strategic Plan and it's efforts to enforce the Horse Protection Act (HPA) to eliminate both blatant & inconspicuous methods of soring.
Organizational Purpose: To increase the popularity of our common interests. We have fun when we are together and working on projects. By developing relationships and friendships, the organization will become even stronger. We promote the enjoyment of the Tennessee Walking Horse in it's natural way of going - on the trail, in the Field and in the show ring! The club was formed in the 70's as a social get-together for Plantation Tennessee Walking Horse fanciers. Most were trail riders, with a small number taking part in shows. This is still very true with it's present members.
